Fluorocarbon withstands abrasion and pike teeth better than monofilament line. Fluorocarbon is used to make leaders at the end of braided line; a drop shot leader can be built from it, or a quick-release clip and a lure can be attached to its end. Used at the end of braided line, the leader slows the sinking of the lure. Fluorocarbon is also suitable as a leader for fly anglers. Fluorocarbon line is almost invisible in water and can be used to fish wary fish in clear waters. The material is dense, almost non-stretch and sinks faster than traditional monofilament.
